LUXEYARD FRAUD!

Buyers BEWARE of Luxeyard.com!

Too long to review, but will post my review below on Yelp that was recently deleted along with another negative review from another customer:

"Ordered an item july 9 and still have not received!  apparantly, items got lost during their move to another building/warehouse.

still haven't heard anything or received tracking info and getting runaround on the phone.  had to constantly contact them, and customer care never returns calls as promised.  just yesterday was told by agent that he would be forwarding my tracking info as we were talking.   had to ask where the $15 credit was that he promised, which he then did immediately.  (don't understand why he just didn't do it the first time when he mentioned it)

still no email with tracking number and at this point, very leery about this company.   i placed another order early this month and have not received any updates either!

UPDATE!!  FRAUDULENT, SHADY BUSINESS!!

Same customer service rep/manager sent me a shipping email on Aug 29 for my second item that i ordered August 4th. Have not even received item yet, and it is September 11th!
Its been 1 1/2 months!  Just called UPS and was told that item was never even received yet from their warehouse!

TWICE I've been giving fake UPS tracking numbers!!!

Also, never received first item, and they credited my account...WHAT'S GOING ON OVER THERE, LUXEYARD????  Why are you selling things that you cannot send??"

I recently opened a case with paypal requesting for the money to be refunded back to my paypal account.   I then received an email from the same customer service rep, "aka" manager, that they credited the money back to my "luxeyard account."  Hello??  why would I shop there after all of this?!

I have sent several emails since and made numerous calls, but to no avail.

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector

Received this in my New Beauty Test Tube and was about to send out to my mom before I decided just to try it out.  Boy, I'm glad I did.  Love, love, love this product.  Was not expecting this to work at all, since age spots tend to run in my family and figured there was nothing I could do to treat them.

Well, was I wrong.  After the first application, I noticed that this one spot I had on the side of my face was lighter.  Will definitely continue to use this faithfully and hope that this will make those flourishing spots less noticeable.

MyGlam January Bag

I finally received the  MyGlam bag that everyone has been coveting over for the last two months.  MyGlam is another beauty, focused company that offers monthly subscription at a very reasonable price of $10.  They started advertising in November and were sold out within a few days. They immediately climbed from 500, to a reportedly, 250,000 members and are increasing in number as we speak.

Their first sample glambag debuted in December and retailed somewhere around $60.  It included the ever-so-popular eyeshadow in Sin and travel eyeshadow primer from the high-end brand, Urban Decay.  The shadow alone retails for $18 and the primer for $9.   In addition, MyGlam has one-upped their competitiors by including a resuable makeup bag that they produce with a different design and theme each month.

Since then, women of all ages continue to hover over their computers waiting for slots to open as there is presently a waiting list.  Their facebook is constantly slammed with incessant requests for openings and those who get in are now betitled as "Glammies."

In my January Bag:
1. Sheer Cover Duo Concealer (full size) $20
Not my color at all.  Surprised they took a chance at sending something so personal
as  this.  Foundations and concealers are always best if tested out by the individual
    using it.
2.Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner (travel size)
Have heard of the brand and curious to try this out since I love almond scented products
3.Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Masque (full size) $4
Haven't tried it yet, but read good reviews and I can always use a good masque.
4.theBalm Cosmetics Shady Lady eyeshadow (full size) $16
Pretty color, but doesn't really show up on my medium tan skin-tone.  Might have to
pass this one down to a friend.

Although, a couple of items didn't quite work out for me, I am overall pleased with my bag.  MyGlam delivered what they promised.  What I know from others experience, is that many of these subscription companies start out extravagant with full sized products and as memberships grow, the products start to wane.   Only time will tell, but so far, I am enjoying being a "Glammie."

Foodzie Review:January Box

I love the concept of monthly sample boxes, and I LOVE food, so when I heard of the online marketplace, Foodzie, I was ecstatic.  This company carefully selects products crafted by small-batch foodmakers from around the country and then creates several monthly themed boxes to choose from.

My January box came in this morning and I am a bit disappointed in the size of the items I received.  A candy bar, a pack of almonds, and an energy bar for $29?  Really?  I just subscribed to Blissmobox, another company that offers healthy, organic products, and they only charge $19 a month-and that's with several full sized products.

In my January box:

1. Pacific Sea Salt & Cinnamon Crunch
2. Vaninlla Blueberry Energy Bar
3. Sea Salt & Nibs Bar
4. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
5. Sun -Ripened Pu'er Tea
6. Roasted Almonds
7. Quite Cheesy Kale Krunch

And although I did enjoy tasting foods that I normally would not consider or think of buying, with so many companies offering monthly subscriptions at competitive prices, this box will be my last food affair with Foodzie.

Kinerase Restructure Firming Eye Cream

This was my first time trying out a product from the Kinerase brand.  I've been on this search for the perfect eye cream and despite the large stash of samples I already have from Sephora and monthly beauty subscriptions, I probably could have held off on buying this one, but couldn't resist the 20% off sale at Skinstore.com.

I have been using this cream for about a week and have already noticed a slight difference. The fine lines that are starting to develop in the bottom, inner corner of my eyes have definitely softened.

It is very thick in texture so you just need to dab a little on your eyes as a little goes a long way.  It also helps that it absorbs fairly quick making it easy to apply makeup on afterwards.

Previous to this I was using the Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment consistently for a month.  And although it did help in preventing morning puffiness, there weren't any noticeable changes on my fine lines.  I'm pretty pleased with Kinerase and look forward to trying out their other products.

Starting the New Year with Boxes Galore!

I have come to the realization that i have become a box hoarder.  It all started last fall when I made an accidental discovery of a beauty company named Birchbox.  They are a fairly new business that offers sample boxes that may include up to 4-5 deluxe, and sometimes, full size sample beauty products from well-known brands.  The items are packaged nicely in their own personalized boxes and sent out each month at a remarkable price of just $10 with free shipping.  After my first box I was hooked-surfing endlessly through the web, trying to find as many reputable companies offering similar subscriptions with reasonable fees.  Through this search, I stumbled upon gourmet food boxes, health food boxes, nailpolish boxes, etc.  You name it, and it's probably out there or will be soon.

I am now up to about nine boxes, but know I will have to eventually give up one or two of them.  It definitely feels like Christmas every week at my house, and so far, I have been able to retrieve these boxes before my dh gets home:)   Not sure how long this obsession of mine will last or be hidden (I'm running out of drawers) but until then, I anxiously await for the next box of goodies to arrive at my doorstep.  Ding dong...

What I received in my January Birchbox:
Befine Night Cream, VMV Hypoallergenics Re-Everything Eye Serum, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye liner, Juicy Couture-Viva La Juicy, and Wichcraft Granola
